Vigil held in Altadena on the 6-month anniversary of the Eaton Fire

In January 2025, several wildfires broke out across LA County, creating the worst wildfire incident in its history, and burning over 40,000 acres of land. As we have always done in times of crisis, spiritual communities and community organizations are pouring abundance into LA County, and coming together across race, place, and faith to deliver local, regional, and statewide policy and resources that include everyone in Altadena and Pasadena’s restoration.

Monday, July 7th marked the six-month anniversary of the Eaton Fire which burned down the homes, schools, workplaces, and places of worship of thousands of Altadena and Pasadena residents. Since then, LA Voice and partners have been organizing and providing funds and resources to impacted families. In July, we gathered at the site of a burned down home of an LA Voice leader, holding a vigil to honor the lives lost in the fire and to express the still-pressing need of a just recovery for survivors.

NBC4 LA covered the vigil on their news program that evening. Watch the clip here.
