Justice for All

We believe our justice system should be focused on prevention and rehabilitation. This work has included:

Helping to pass and organizing for full implementation of Prop 47, which has helped thousands get their lives back on track by reducing sentences and changing records for non-violent offenders.

Passing the Fair Chance Initiative which makes it easier for formerly incarcerated individuals to find work.

Contributing to the passage of Prop 57, a state ballot measure which increases parole and good behavior opportunities for people with nonviolent felonies and allows judges, not prosecutors, to decide whether to try certain juveniles as adults in court.

Working to build a movement of formerly incarcerated voters. In the next three years, our goal is to train 100 formerly incarcerated organizers on voter engagement organizing who repeatedly contact 10,000 formerly incarcerated individuals in ways that increase their registration and voting rates and impact ballot initiatives that help or would harm them.
