Between now (Aug. 22) and August 31, 2006 there will be an historic Assembly Vote on SB 840 which will provide comprehensive, high-quality health insurance for all Californians. If the Assembly passes SB 840, and in all likelihood it will, it will go to Governor Schwarzenegger’s desk for his signature ...

If you are in favor of receiving health care from your choice of doctor and never have to worry about losing your health insurance due to loss of job or inability to pay those ever-increasing premiums, write to your Assembly member today(using this easy form).
Be sure to also write to the Governor asking him to Support SB 840 when it reaches his desk.
SB-840 will save California $8 billion in the first year alone and cover every resident without any new spending on health care. Everyone will be covered by a high-quality, affordable and reliable insurance plan that will provide medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage, including hospitalization, emergency room care and transportation, laboratory work, skilled nursing care, mental health care, drug addiction rehabilitation and chiropractic care.
According to OneCareNow.org a group organizing a 365 city campaign to pass SB 840, this legislation will give us meaningful health care reform along with freedom of choice! No longer will we be held hostage to HMO's who continuously raise our premiums and cut our health benefits.
SB 840 will save money and save lives. It will give residents access to medical care without the fear going bankrupt due to medical bills or losing our health insurance due to a pre-existing condition, loss of job or loss of income.
PLEASE join me and the thousands of individuals and 457 impressive organizations, unions and 15 California cities including Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Santa Barbara, Oakland, and San Francisco to support this historic legislation.
Health Care Security can be ours. But the Governor has to sign it! Please urge Arnold to sign SB 840 when it comes to his desk!
