You can't spell Beethoven without B-L-I-M-P...oh wait, you can!

OK, I understand that we live in a major city (#2 in the US) and that we have air traffic overhead.

But does some pea-brained pilot really need to buzz the Hollywood Bowl in the Goodyear Blimp during the Beethoven Coriolan Overture? Most probably, it was the Spirit of America, close enough that I could have hit it with a BB gun, had I the foresight to bring one along.
ENVIRONMENT
I actually like the Blimp, conceptually - there's something about it that seems harmonious with nature. It floats because it is full of helium, so it is more efficient that planes or helicopters, and it is stately, in a way.

But it's also loud, and I'd be surprised if any of the 8,000+ people at the Bowl last night are running out today to outfit their car with Goodyear's latest after said airship droned overhead for about 5 minutes during the LA Phil's opening number last night.

A long time ago (about 20 years), I had a friend who was taking flying lessons and had just graduated to a 4-seater, which meant room behind her and the instructor for a victim passenger to enjoy the ride. All throughout the flight the following message (roughly) repeated over the air traffic control frequency: "There is a concert tonight at the Hollywood Bowl. Please avoid flying over or near the Hollywood Bowl area."

I don't know if they still do that - any private plane pilots out there? - but if not, it couldn't hurt, and if they do, then WTF? Besides, there are klieg lights around the Bowl that run on concert nights, so it's kind of hard to plead ignorance.

I know, it's a small thing, annoying a small portion of LA's population. But there are hard, intractable problems in this city: Skid Row, underfunded and understaffed police departments, pollution, traffic. This one's easy. If you're flying over Hollywood and the Bowl isn't dark, steer clear. Otherwise, we'll have to load some HAWK SAMs on the edge of the bandshell, and make every night at the Bowl fireworks night.
