Huge chemical plume hanging in the sky this evening is the last visible artifact of a Minotaur rocket launch from Vandenburg Air Force Base way up north.
The digital pix don't do it justice - it's a gnarly-looking plume of exotic hydrocarbons that hangs in the air long after most standard jet trails disappear.
