MULTI-ARTIST SHOW PROVIDES ENTERTAINMENT WITH A CAUSE
“Artists on the Brink” Presents “Studio 1954,” a socially aware night of surprises
(Los Angeles, CA)-Artists on the Brink, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit, presents “Studio 1954” at downtown’s ArtShare LA located at 801 4th Place. “Studio 1954” is a theatrical collaboration of artists, actors, musicians, dancers, and acrobats performed through a comedic narrative set in 1954. Performances will be held on Fridays (May 9th and 16th) at 8 pm and Saturdays (May 10th and 17th) at 7 pm.
What happens when great ideas are presented before the public is ready for them? Entertainment mayhem. The artist collective, Artists on the Brink, have pooled their talents in the creation of a night of varied entertainment with proceeds to benefit the work of local organization S.C.O.P.E., working to encourage greater voter turnout in 2008, and the Feminist Majority Foundation’s “Get Her Vote Out.”

Editor's Note: Gregory Siff wrote and is starring in a new play, The Nothing Boys premiering in Hollywood on May 2nd. After meeting him this evening, I asked him to come here to LA Voice to share his story and let people know about the project. Thanks to Greg for dropping in and sharing with LA Voice's readers!
I showed up for my ten-year high school reunion and it was me, and one other student! no one else showed. I wrote a play about it and no we are slated to have a May 3rd world premiere at the Complex in Hollywood. Produced by the writer/executive producer of HBO's Entourage, this new comedy will make a great night at the theatre.
As part of the project, I started a videoblog, and here is my first attempt at it. Enjoy!

Southern California is known for its beaches, mountains and deserts. It is also synonymous with swimming pools, BBQs and plenty of outdoor entertaining. Last night was no exception, Andrew Makay, the Designer and Owner of N2N Bodywear (link to N2N), unveiled his 2008 swimwear-line with a fabulous party at the swanky Standard Hotel in West Hollywood.
More than 250 people crowed the pool area of The Standard Hotel, which overlooks the stunning City of LA, as they came out to support a business that contributes to the local economy. Not even the cold Spring air could keep guests away from watching a show that reflected swimwear that captured the true essence of California style that is admired and copied world-wide.
