Road Idiot Report - Narrow Escape on Sepulveda

Just like this, only a lot faster
Good morning, my fellow commuters: Please - slow the #@$% down.

My life (and my young daughter's) flashed before my eyes this morning. We had just pulled up at a stoplight, en route to school, southbound on Sepulveda at Exposition.

From the oncoming lane, this huge old white Bronco on offroad tires blows the light at about 50, comes booming through the intersection and suddenly swerves into a left turn across our bow to narrowly avoid demolishing a Saturn that had taken the green on Exposition ...
DRIVE
I can see the guy whipping the steering wheel over hard, and the truck almost tipping up onto its outboard tires as he barely held his turn.

Another 2 mph or so faster and the fat bastard of a truck would have barrel-rolled right over us. As it was, he pounded the corner curb with his right front wheel, shredding the granite curbstone, before screaming off down Exposition like nothing happened. Kind of amazing that he didn't completely blow out the tire.

Should I be mad at SUV owners who think they can corner like SCCA drivers? Late-running commuters who can't handle their java?

Still scraping my nerves off the driver's seat this morning. Anybody else have any narrow escapes lately?
