If you're planning on gassing up the RV (or SUV, SUT, UAV (urban assault vehicle) or IBDT (ittybitty death trap)) to blow outta town on Labor Day, you might want to do a little research on gas prices - especially with crude oil prices jacked up to an all-time high . Prices do not suck at every single station in Los Angeles (yet).
Pumped gas in Downey lately? How about Van Nuys? There's a difference of about 90 cents a gallon between them, according to LosAngelesGasPrices.com, that reliable watchdog of the oil industry's tradition of screwing us on 3-day weekends ...
LAGP relies on a host of street-level price reporters to feed its database of the best and worst gas prices in greater L.A.. Right now, the ripoffs rates range from $1.89 at the Costco in City of Industry (reported about an hour ago!) to a rapacious $2.75 a gallon at the Shell Station at Firestone and Woodruff in Downey.
If you absolutely, positively must find the cheapest 76 station in Pasadena the search lets you sort the site's database by city and brand.
And if you just want to talk gas with several thousand other gasoholics - and we're all degenerate, unrepentant gasoholics, don't kid yourselves - you can jump onto the forums, where LAGP members and members of affiliate "Gas Buddy" sites in several dozen other US cities offer opinions on topics such as How many times do you visit this site each day? and Would Jesus buy gas?
My favorite answer to that last one: "God drives a Mopar - like father, like son."
