In the grand scheme of things, this is small news, but it gives me a chance to write the word "Enzo" again. Ooooh. Ennnzzzooooo.
On Friday at the Beverly Hilton, Christie's is going to auction off a Ferrari Enzo (only 399 were made and sold for $1-million-plus) at the celebugasmic "Runway for Life" event to benefit St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Starting bid is $875,000, but hey, it still has all the original tools, manuals and hand-fitted luggage ...

This is all, of course, a cheap ploy on my part to remind you of the story that wouldn't die, the Ballad of Dietrich and the Smashed Enzo and all the other weirdness surrounding the spectacular Feb. 21 demolition of a Ferrari Enzo at 162 mph by failed videogame tycoon Stefan Eriksson.
Or Dietrich. Or whoever.
As I said, this is barely news, let alone something worth blogging on, and the Enzo isn't even the official car of Los Angeles - I think that goes to the late-80s Corolla, the blinged-out Escalade, or maybe just the song-honored black Jetta.
But it's definitely the official meme of Los Angeles, and we all have to do our part to keep it alive.
Have I mentioned I'm tickled to be posting again after 36 hours of tearing my hair out during this week's hosting meltdown?
Ennnnzzzzoooooo.
